Lauren Buckner focuses her practice on affordable housing and commercial real estate transactions. Lauren has a wide range of experience representing both for profit and non-profit clients in the development and rehabilitation of multifamily projects utilizing low-income housing tax credits, tax-exempt bond financing, FHA financing and other affordable housing finance tools. A large part of Lauren’s practice involves projects and matters in the District of Columbia where she has in-depth knowledge with the District’s local funding sources, as well as local laws relating to tenant purchases, cooperatives and condominium conversion. Lauren also represents small minority owned businesses in matters ranging from general business, contract negotiation, lease negotiation and the purchase and sale of commercial properties.
Before joining Reno & Cavanaugh, Lauren practiced at Klein Hornig LLP specializing in affordable housing and community development. Lauren also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the District of Columbia where she represented the Department of Housing and Community Development in the acquisition and disposition of vacant and abandoned properties.
